Air Travel Help

This post was written by: Flights to Istanbul.

Lets face it, taking an airplane is the fastest way to get to any destination that is too far to drive.  There are some people who love to fly and then there are some that absolutely hate to fly and would do anything to get out of it.  There are some strategies that you can do to make your air traveling a more pleasant and smarter way to travel.

What to pack

The worst part of traveling by plane is the deciding what to pack.  You should always try to pack lightly and only take what you are going to need.  You have to remember that you are going to have to lug around your luggage and you do not want to hurt yourself every time that you do just that.

Make sure that you take enough underwear for the entire time that you will be there.  You also want to take along at least one outfit for everyday.  Take the clothes that you will be most comfortable in and that are suitable for the climate where you are going.  If you are going on a business trip, then make sure that you bring clothes that are suitable for your business needs.

Motion sickness

If you get sick easily while riding on an airplane, then you may want to think about bringing along something to ease your pain.  The most important thing to remember is to take any medicine for this before you start to fly.  Most of the drugs used to help motion sickness are designed to stop it before it starts.  If you forgot to take the medication, there are always bags handy if you feel like you are going to be sick.

Arrive at the airport early

When you are taking a plane, the best advice to you is to get there early.  There is so much security at the airports that you are sure to get held up and there is a chance that you may miss your flight if you do not give yourself enough time.  Allow lots of time for any possible delays that can come up at any unexpected time during your air travel time.

Pack some fun

Flights can be boring if you are traveling alone or with children.  One way to avoid boredom or nervousness is to pack some fun things to do.  Crossword puzzles, books, hand help games and even headphones are a great idea.  This will keep your mind occupied and if you have little ones that need to be kept quiet or calm, coloring books are a big help for them.

Also, don’t forget to ask about instant life insurance quotes.

The state of Arizona has so much to offer and with Arizona airfare being so cheap in the shoulder and off-peak seasons you really should come and discover the state.  You may want to visit the Grand Canyon with the beauty of nature showing you just how persistence and time can change something into a true thing of beauty.  Or you could want to see some of the outstanding galleries the state has to offer with the rich heritage of the Native Americans, Hispanic culture and western culture all available in different locations.

This is a great way to discover your Arizona travel guide.  The Heard Museum in Central Arizona is a must “visit” for anyone interested in the heritage of the region. Here you will be shown some of the best in traditional and contemporary American Indian art.  You will find ten exhibition galleries that include 5 long-term and five rotating exhibitions with two different locations for you to visit.

While you are visiting the Central Arizona area you may wish to visit Pueblo Grande Museum which is an archaeological site museum and repository. The focus of the museum is supporting the knowledge of prehistory, history, and ethnology of inhabitants of the Southwest.  The museum is positioned at a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins.  You can observe reproductions of the prehistoric Hohokam homesteads when exploring the ruin trail.  At the site is also some of the last remaining intact Hohokam irrigation canals. This is a fantastic piece of Hohokam history.

A few hours to the southeast, you will find wonderful Tuscon tourism.  Head on down to Tombstone where you can experience the Old West.  Tombstone was known as “The Town Too Tough To Die,” and is the most famous of Arizona’s historic mining camps.  This area produced millions of dollars of gold and silver throughout a seven year period.  When you are touring Tombstone you will have the chance to visit Boothill Graveyard, the old Tombstone Courthouse and watch many of the residents dressed in period style.

Outside of Tucson you may want to visit the Titan Missile Museum which was home to one of the Titan II Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles.  There were 18 Titan II missile sites located near the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.  The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan Missile site that remains intact; all the others were destroyed.  You can take a guided tour that takes you into the launch control room with a simulated launch and then travel on through the 200 ft tunnel for an in person look at the Titan II missile.  It’s an incredible tour, be sure to make time to visit.

Travel on over to Yuma and visit the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park.  Here you will be able to tour the prison that housed 3,069 prisoners, 29 of whom were women.  The prison was last used in 1909 before the prisoners were relocated to a new prison.  Now you can tour the prison and look at the front gate that is so familiar to anyone that has watched western movies.

Egypt Packages Make for an Excellent Holiday

November 16, 2008 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

An Egypt holiday is one of the most rewarding and memorable trips that you can possibly experience due to the wide range of activities, sites, historic value, and travel options available.

When most people think of Egypt, they picture monuments, pyramids, and the desert. But there is much more to Egypt than just that, and each destination in Egypt has its own offering from the others. For example, Alexandria and Luxor are known for their historic value, Hurghada and Sharm are known for their resorts, beaches, and watersports, Cairo is known for its culture, and so on.

You will also find that travel within Egypt is modestly priced, with airfare, accommodations, and entertainment being very reasonable for its popularity. A local caveat is adult beverages, however, which will cost you anywhere from US$8 to $12 per drink.

Unfortunately, because of the wide range of activities, if you want to participate in activities of different types, e.g. exploring the beaches of Sharm Egypt, then on to Alexandria or a Nile River cruise with a safari and horseback ride along the way, your travel plans become much more complicated. Luckily there are a good number of qualified travel guides who can assist you with different plans, from group tours to fully escorted Egypt packages.

For do-it-yourselfers like me, there are some helpful travel books that will give you the inside scoop on prices, destinations, and customs, which will all be immensely helpful in planning your trip. But this is not a valid approach for everyone, because we all have different tolerance levels for chaos!

One of the aspects of Egypt that struck me even more than the surroundings was the people, who are largely friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Ask a local a question, and you’ll probably draw a crowd of people with suggestions on the best answer!

A popular fear when traveling to Africa or the Middle East is one of safety, but Egypt is one of the safer destinations you can visit. Egypt is largely free from violent crime, though bombings perpetrated by local radicals have occurred. Pick pocketing is not uncommon, but security is placed in most public places to discourage this from happening.

Also be sure to bring back some souvenirs for your friends and family. Some items native to the region that are available for reasonable purchase include Egypt’s well-known dates, spices, crafts, pottery, and colorful fabrics.

Egypt packages are a great approach to what will be one of the most memorable vacations during your lifetime, almost assuredly. Prepare fully, plan in advance, and enjoy one of the most beautiful regions in the world, along with one of the original seven wonders.
