Looking For Last Minute Travel Destinations

March 14, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Florida

This state is perfect to visit all-year round. With theme parks galore in Orlando alone, there’s sure to be a place or two able to welcome last-minute travelers like you. While in Florida, you can also head off to Miami and enjoy its beaches and exciting nightlife. For more adventure, you can book a day trip to Key West and enjoy its exotic locale. In Key West, make sure you set aside a portion of your day for fishing and shopping.

New England Coast

If you need a last-minute destination during the fall, there’s no better place to pick than the New England Coast. Its spectacular fall foliage is famous worldwide and you can enjoy it for free just by walking around. The same beauty shall greet you whether you’re traveling to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, or some other place in the New England coast.

Paris

Lovers will always have Parisat any time of the year. Really, it is packed all the time, however you might not really notice these things when you are in love? In Paris, you immediately know a couple of well-known attractions to visit and activities to check out. Besides the ever-famous Eiffel Tower, there’s also Versailles Palace to check out. You know well that it is essential to give the street-lining cafes a try for authentic French foods, to walk around and have fun in the romantic atmosphere and appreciate the Bohemian art.

New York

Another city you won’t lack for excitement is the Big Apple. But beware, native New Yorkersdon’t like it when people refer to NYC as the Big Apple. You will find always something to see because it is a town that never sleeps, and no need to worry what time you arrive there. Just be careful of pickpockets. That’s one authentic NYC experience you can certainly do without!

Nevada

Like NYC, Nevada or Las Vegas in particular is a city that comes especially alive at night. If you think gambling is the only thing to do in Vegas, think again. You can drop by at Caesar’s Palace, for instance, at certain times in the evening and you’ll be treated by a special presentation…for free.

California

First stop: Hollywood. Walk around Beverly Hills, buy a map to know where the stars live, walk a couple of minutes more and you can spot a famous actor or two while shopping in any of the equally famous boutiques lining the streets. A food tour won’t be amiss because Cali is a melting pot of various cultures! You’ll see a Thai restaurant right next to a fine-dining French restaurant and a fastfood joint.

London

History buffs wanting to do some last minute travel should immediately head to London. There, you can visit Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and let’s not forget London Bridge, the ultimate star of nursery rhymes. If you have extra time, check out Thames Park – this used to be the most fashionable place for nobility to see and be seen.

Hawaii

Hawaii has nice tropical weather all year round. They may have stormy bouts once in a while, but the weather channel will easily let you know if visiting the islands now would be bad timing. In Hawaii, you can enjoy luaus after frolicking in the beach.

Egypt

Pyramids! There’s no need to think when you get to Egypt. You can also try riding a camel and visit the various museums found in Cairo.

Shanghai

Take advantage of the currently welcoming regime in China and see the secret wonders of this once-forbidden country. The language barrier could take a bit getting used to but the extremely cheap cost-of-living makes struggling with Mandarin worth every second.

Find Helpful Information On The Air Travel Rules

March 14, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Are you preparing to fly this year? There is a good chance that you would like to pack and take many of your belongings along with you for your family vacation or business trip.  Are you planning on bringing any items with you that are banned?  If so, you may want to rethink your decision.  As a traveler, you need to understand the importance of following air travel rules, including banned items.

Before you can understand the importance of following air travel rules, you need to familiarize yourself with them. You can easily do this by contacting the airline or airport you plan on using.  In addition to contacting them directly, you should also be able to find helpful information, including common air travel rules, on their online websites. You can make use of these websites, and for some other important information on air travel, perform an internet search.

In your search you will not only be able to obtain a list of all of the banned items, but you also will learn specific information on those bans and exceptions to them. For instance, all liquids are currently banned from being stored in your carryon luggage, but small amounts of baby formula, eye care drops, and prescribed medications are allowed.  In addition to information on items that are prohibited aboard an airplane or only allowed in certain plane areas, you can also learn more about the airport security screening process. This may include documents that you need to have handy, as well as the security checkpoints that you will have to go through.

Once you have taken the time to familiarize yourself with many of the air travel rules, including those that were recently implemented, you should be able to have a pleasant experience at the airport, as well as aboard your airplane. However, knowing the new rules of air travel simply isn’t enough; you also need to follow them.  In fact, if you don’t follow them you may be in for the shock or surprise of your life.

When it comes to not following air travel rules or cooperating with airport security, you will find that there are a number of different consequences.  Perhaps, the most common consequence is that you will miss your flight.  If you are tied up with airport security, they are not required to hold your flight just for you; therefore you may be required to book a reservation on another flight.  In addition to missing your flight, there is a chance that you could be detained by airport security or local authorities.

While it is possible to be detained by airport security or by local authorities, you will find that it is often a rare occurrence. Many of the airport security incidents can be cleared up in minutes;but, still there are chances that the law enforcement could intervene.  When it comes to banned items aboard a plan, you will not necessarily be detained unless you try to sneak aboard an item that is dangerous or illegal, such as drugs, guns, bombs, or other weapons. In the event you just forgot to take your mascara out of your purse, you will likely just have it taken away from you.

As previously mentioned, another air travel rule, aside from leaving prohibited items at home, involves airport security checkpoints. All passengers are required to go through the proper checkpoints and successfully pass through them, before being able to board an airplane.  Not only will you be required to hand over your carryon luggage bags, to be properly screened, but you will also be required to walk through a metal detector, as well as take off your shoes. All passengers, including children, need to follow these procedures. In the event that you refuse to, you will not be permitted to board your flight.  There is also a good chance that you will be detained by airport security or by local authorities.

Essentially, the worst that could happen is that you will be question by authorities; however, this question may lead to you missing your flight or being banned from flying altogether. Although you may not necessarily be a risk, airport security cannot be sure.  That is why they tend to overly cautious when it comes to air travel rule violations.

Considering Last Minute Economy Travel

March 14, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Saving money would probably be your biggest obligation when you start traveling, but when you have to harass a few people, pull a few strings, and do everything at the last minute, can you still expect to have some money left over at the end of the day? Economy travel would be great if you know how to get it, and even at the last minute. If you are anticipating that you will be going through a lot of last minute travel, then you may want to take note of these tips.

- Always have a great travel agent from a travel agency that knows how to handle travel mishaps. This includes last minute travel arrangements, which can drive even the best travel agencies crazy. You need to have a reliable travel agent who can be on call and efficient, so that no matter how late your last minute is, you can still get the trip that you want and not be worried that you will end up somewhere on the other side of the planet without your luggage.

- Always have info on hand about economy travel discounts. When you are free, inquire about these discount travel packages, because when you actually need them, they may be very useful for you. Ask about the rates and how they change when you start doing last minute travel. Ask how far you can stretch your last minute – or, how last minute can last minute be? Ask about special discounts or packages that you may be able to avail of if you have last minute travel arrangements.

- Keep your passport in a safe place and know where it is. Many travel agencies require a passport when they start booking flights and hotels, and when you do get to the hotel that you have been booked with, you will be asked for your passport. You can get your discounted packages only if you are able to present your passport, so make sure that your passport is with you at all times.

- Ask your family and friends for tips on last minute travel. There may actually be ways for you to save if you know where to look, but sometimes, two or more heads are better than one. You may actually get a lot of good tips from your friends. Ask about their travel arrangements on their last minute travel spree.

Who did they talk to, what agency did they ask about travel, and what airline did they use? Where did they go? What did they like the most about the trip? What was the worst thing that happened? Would they be able to recommend you to anybody working in the airline or travel industry? Ask your friends ahead of time, so that when the last minute travel arrangements suddenly pop up, you will not be ill prepared.

- Look for discount packages that are a little more flexible, such as those that give you time to look around cities, walk around, take hikes, and shop on your own. Some economy packages might be stringent and tour guides will harass you by taking you from place to place, giving you very little time to appreciate your destination on your own.

These are only a few tips that you may want to use when you are considering last minute travel and going economy. Remember, always keep in touch with your travel agent, and do not be afraid of doing the research.

The more thorough your research, the better prepared you will be no matter when in the year you choose to travel.

Know What You Need In Your Flight Bags

March 12, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

If you have recently taken a flight or plan to, chances are you have seen information on the air travel rules. These rules include a wide variety of different topics, issues, and items; however, perhaps, one is more important than the rest. That air travel ruleis the list of items that are prohibited from being taken on an airline, whether that ban only be for your carryon luggage or both your carryon luggage and checked baggage.  Unfortunately, there are some mistakes that are made.At the time of checking you should be aware of what may happen if you forget to take off the prohibited item from your bag or do it intentenionally?

When it comes to prohibited items in airports, you will find that different consequences result.  These consequences tend to depend on the airport you are in, the airline you are flying with, as well as the item that you were trying to get through security checkpoints.  Essentially, if you were trying to sneak in a bottled water, the consequences would be far less than if you were trying to sneak in a gun, but there will still be consequences none the less.

The most common action taken, when it comes to trying to board an airplane with prohibited items, is that you will be pulled aside by airport securityor other airport staff. All bags, including checked luggage, are usually checked with you nearby. This is done to help ensure that no prohibited items are found.  In the event that you are trying to store prohibited items, such as flammable objects, in your checked luggage, you will likely be asked to take the item to your car. In the event that you cannot, you may have to turn that item over to airport security.  The same can be said for prohibited items in your carryon luggage.

In many cases, you will be given an option to do what you want to with your those items. That is why it is advised that you arrive at the airport in advance.  Two hours early is often the recommended time. This will ensure that you are able to made additional accommodations, should you find that you are prohibited from taking some of your belongings aboard the airplane. As mentioned earlier, if you are not able to arrange accommodations for your belongings, you will have to return them to airport security.  If you are like most other travelers you may be curious as to what happens with those items.

The items confiscated by airport security and what happens to those items will all depend in the airport in question.  Each airport has their own way of dealing with confiscated items. It is not uncommon for these items to be taken, melted, and forever discarded; however, some airports are beginning to profit from the sale of prohibited items.  A number of airports have sold these items, ranging from tools to lighters to scissors, themselves or with the assistance of an auction seller.  Regardless of which action is taken, it is safe to say that you will no longer be able to recuperate your confiscated belongings.

In spite of just kissing your banned items goodbye, you will find that many airports have begun establishing onsite mail service centers. These mail service centers are ultimate for regularly flying persons who would not be able to make additional arrangements for these items, like returning them to their vehicles.  With mail service centers, you will need to pay for the supplies, but you can easily have your items mailed to your home.  However, it is important to remember, that like all airports, the postal service also has a list of prohibited items. These items most commonly include flammable objects, such as lighters.

Although you have a number of different choices, when it comes to taking care of your items that are banned from going past airport security checkpoints, it is probably best if you just leave those items as home. Reviewing the list of banned items, before you start packing for your trip, is the best way to ensure that you are not left having to turn over some of your belongings to airport security.

The Benefits Of Staying Up-To-Date On All Air Travel Rules

March 11, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Have you flown within the last year?  How about within the last month?Even if you have, there is a lot of possibility that things have changed since the last time you were at the airport. While you may be thinking about the airport layout, it is actually the air travel rules that have likely changed. As more security issues arise, often on a daily or weekly basis, the airlines decide to enforce new travel rules.  In the event that these new enforcements do go into effect, do you know how to go about finding what they are?

Before you can learn to familiarize yourself with new air travel rules, if there are any, you will want to understand the benefits of learning those rules. Unfortunately, too many travelers are worried about having the proper forms of identification that they don’t always worry about the items that they pack.  If you are one of those individuals, there is a good chance that you may, unintentionally, pack items that are prohibited past airport security checkpoints.  Depending on the prohibited item, you may be required to make additional accommodations, discard of the item, or turn it over to airport security

In addition to prohibited items, there are also new air travel rules that apply to security screening procedures. For an example, all the travelers on flight are now asked to remove their shoes. Your shoes will be scanned along with the rest of your carryon luggage. While this may pose an inconvenience, it is a requirement.Failing to comply with this requirement, and also others, may lead you to be detained by local authorities or airport security.  In addition to missing your flight, you may even face prosecution for your actions.  However, this can all be prevented by knowing and understanding the new air travel rules, as well as the old ones.

Perhaps, it is the best way to familiarize yourself with air travel rules that you go directly to the source. That source is the organization that makes and essentially enforces those rules, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). You can obtain valuable information from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), including information on air travel rules, by directly contacting them or by visiting their online website. That online website can be found at www.tsa.gov.You are advised to fully examine this online website. You will find that it has a large amount of information that you need to know.

In addition to using the internet to examine the online website of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), you can also use it to perform a standard internet search. You should be get a lot of different results by searching with the words “new air travel rules”. Those results are likely to include websites or news reports with information on air travel, including the rules that are enforced aboard all airplanes or in all airports.  When doing this, it is important to keep your source of information in mind.  A large number of websites with inaccurate, misleading, outdated information can be found online.

It may also be a good idea to contact the airlineor airport that you plan on using. This contact can be made over the phone or the same information can easily be obtained online. Whether you visit the online website of a particular airline or airport or contact their representatives directly, you should be able to familiarize yourself with newly implemented air travel rules.  It is also advised that you contact each airline or airport directly because they tend to have different rules. Airport screening procedures may vary from one airport to another, as well as rules aboard particular airlines.

With a small amount of time and research, you should easily be able to learn all of the rules of air travel, including the ones that were recently implemented.  Not only will doing so make your flight more pleasant, but it will help to reduce wait times and ensure that you will make it to your intended destination.

Get Good Discount Hotels For Last Minute Travel

March 09, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Traveling at the last minute can be inconvenient: you need to pack up a lot of clothes in order to get to where your desired place, but you need only a little time to make sure that you pack your clothes well and that you don’t miss anything or forget any of your necessities and toiletries.

You need to get your tickets, have a ready schedule of all the things that you are supposed to do – and book a hotel without having to spend a lot of money on having a last minute trip. A lot of travel agencies and hotels know this tendency of people to do things at the last minute, and they promptly up their rates so that they can get more money out of last minute travelers.

There are ways that you can avoid this, however, whether you are anticipating a lot of last minute travel, or you’re already in the fray and looking for a place to stay in. there will be no dearth of discounts especially if you are in a tourist friendly city, where a lot of hotels just can’t wait to get clients or customers no matter what time of the year, no matter how long it took for you to make the booking.

One way to avoid ever getting bad rates is to actually talk to your travel agent beforehand and ask for discount rates for hotels just in case the day comes when you actually need those discount rates for some last minute travel. Your agent may have contacts at some hotels, and at some hotel chains that will extend their services abroad, so you can talk to your travel agent about what rates are good even before you need them.

Another way to get good discount hotels for last minute travel is to do last minute travel during non-peak months in a certain country or location. Of course this looks counterintuitive, but if you suddenly want to go on a vacation and want to go immediately, and you are at a non-peak time, then this can be a great way for you to save money, and by simply going during a time when all hotels will have discounts anyway.

Still another way is to book your last minute hotel stay online. There are actually many online discounts for hotel bookings to begin with, and last minute bookings may even have some special discounts attached to them as long as you are not bumping up against a hotel that has a lot of guests on its reservations list. You can also access hotels online through kiosks in your local or international airport, therefore if you are at the airport and waiting for your flight, or if you have downtime during your packing sessions, you can go online and rapidly get the bookings done.

Lastly, if you’re already at a location and it’s the last minute, look for a hostel or pension house first. This way, you can spend the night or the first two nights at a decent location, keep yourself safe and sleeping soundly, and then get to see the sights while looking for a hotel.

Who knows? You may really like your lodgings cheaper, especially if you are after the sights most of the time and will spend more time outside rather than in the hotel!

Properly Pack Your Bags For Your Flight

March 09, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Have you recently tried catching a flight?  If not, do you plan to do so in the future? If so, there is a chance that you will notice some changes when you fly, those chances include new air travel rules. While a number of new rules have been implemented, there are some that may have a direct impact on you and how you pack your bags.New rule is a ban on all liquids.

If you are planning of flying, whether it be tomorrow or in two months, you are advised to fully research and examine this new air travel ban. Since most individuals, including men, women, and children, fly with some sort of liquid, there is a good chance that you will need to alter your packing habits.  When examining the liquid ban, it is important to remember one thing.  Liquids are banned from being brought with you onto the airplane in your carry on luggage. This ban does not prohibit you from brining these items with you; it just means that you have to place them in your checked baggage.

When trying to determine which liquid items are prohibited from being stored in your carryon luggage, it is best to examine these items in different categories. This is because this new ban means that a large number of items are now only allowed in bags that will be checked upon arrival at the airport. In fact, there are too many items for you to individually learn .

Some of the most popular items that are now included in the liquid air travel ban include health and beauty products, especially those that are liquid or gel based.  For skincare, these items include hand lotions, hand sanitizers, and moisturizing creams.  When it comes to cosmetics, all items are made of liquid are prohibited from being stored in your carryon luggage, even your purse. This means that you need to remove all mascara, liquid foundation, lip gloss, and other liquid based cosmetics from your carryon luggage.  Other beauty products include shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, styling gel, mouthwash, and toothpaste.

In addition to health and beauty products, there are a fairly large number of food and drink products that you must either leave at home, discard before you enter the airport security area, or pack in your checked luggage. This includes all liquid beverages, even those that are not opened.  If you purchase a drink from a sterile restaurant or shopping store, past airport security, you will have to consume your drink before you begin boarding for your flight.

When it comes to food, you will also find that, like most beverages, items with liquid in them are banned. These items include, but are not limited to jello, soup, pudding, and yogurt. If you need to have food or snacks with you, you will want to purchase something from the airport vending machines or bring a small, dry snack from home. These items are the safest and most convenient to have when snacking aboard an airplane.

As you can easily see, there are an unlimited number of products, with a gel or liquid base, that you must place in your checked baggage.  However, there are a few exceptions to this new air travel rule. When it comes to drinks, the only drinks, allowed on the airplane with you and other travelers is infant formula or milk based products for babies. You may bring these items onboard, but it is always possible that they will be examined closely.

Another exception includes eye care products and medications.  You are allowed to bring liquid medication onboard an airplane with you, as long as the medication is prescribed to you.  Airport security will likely verify that your name matches the name on the prescription bottle. You can also bring onboard other non prescribed products, including those required for eye care; but, they must not be heavier than four ounces. These items may include saline solution and eye drops.

By keeping the above mentioned information in mind, you should be able to prepare for your flightwithout having to be worried about airport security checkpoints. As long as you pack you bags according to the rules, you should not experience any difficulty with airport security.

Verify The Rules And Restrictions Of Random Baggage Checks

March 08, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Do you enjoy participating in illegal activities, such as drug use? Although you shouldn’t, it isn’t recommended for your heath and not to mention its illegal, there are a large number of individuals who do. When it comes to drug use, whether it be marijuana, cocaine, or some illegally obtained prescription pills, there are many individuals who are addicted. Even though they are not addicted, some of them just like to take them, notwithstanding the fact that they could stop any time.  If you are one of those individuals, there will likely come a point in time when you will need to travel, maybe even on airplane. If so, you are advised to proceed with caution.

In the recent years, airport security has drastically changed. Before September 11th, some airports only randomly screened baggage, but now they are always checked. Not only is baggage being checked for dangerous weapons, but it is also checked for illegal items, such as drugs. It means that next time if you plan on flying with a stash, you are suggested not to do so. There is always the possibility that you will get caught, regardless of how smart you are. Despite this chance, there are still many travelers who try.

The number one mistake that most individuals, make when flying with illegal drugs, is carry the drugs with them.Nowadays some new airport rules have been established. Those rules require that all passengers need to take off their shoes.  Shoes will now be scanned with all other carryon bags. This means that if you plan on hiding something illegal in your shoes, whether it be drugs or not, you will be caught.  It is also advised that you do not carry anything illegal in your carryon bags.  In addition to being scanned though an x-ray machine, they may also be examined by airport security.

Since it is too risky to carry illegal items with them, many travelers make the decision to hide them in their checked baggage. While it may have been possible to successfully do this ten years ago, it is not anymore. Now, almost every airline searches through checked baggage.  If your bags are locked, there is a good chance that you will be asked to remove those locks. When it comes to checking checked baggage, there are two main types of searches that are done.  All bags will be thoroughly searched for anything out of the ordinary, but more intense searches are conducted randomly.

Do you know what the difference is between a traditional search and an intensive search? Instead of just shifting your items around, airport security will actually look through your entire bag. This may mean having every single one of your luggage compartments checked, the pockets of your clothing checked, as well all bags, including makeup bags.  In the event that you are randomly selected for one of these checks, there is virtually no way that you will make it to the next point, your airplane seat.

The reason why a traveler brings banned items, not to mention illegal items, on a flight is just because they assume that nothing would go wrong with them.If you try to bring an item that is restricted on flight, like a cigarette lighter, then you may just have your item confiscated.  Additional actions may be taken, but for the most part, you will just receive a warning. However, there is some difference between a banned item and a banned item which is illegal as well. That difference may mean more than having to miss your flight. In fact, it could mean jail time.

In addition to illegal drugs, alcohol, which is considered legal if not consumed at the correct age, is prohibited on some airplanes. Most airlines have restrictions on alcohol, including checked baggage. In most cases, alcohol cannot be brought on the plane if it is more than 140 proof. When it doubt, it is best to verify the rules and restrictions with the airline you plan on flying with.

Easy Steps Towards Last Minute Air Travel

March 07, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

Traveling by plane to your vacation destination at the last minute can make you panicky enough to forget traveling essentials. Use the tips to ensure that when you go away for vacation, you’re not leaving trouble behind.

Flight Documents

Double and triple check your passport. Make sure you have it with you at all times. Pack your passport together with your flight tickets, too. Last but not the least, if you are traveling abroad, be sure you also have your visa documents with you.

Reservation and Other Vacation-Related Documents

When you make a reservation by phone, you’re usually given a confirmation number and that can stand as proof of your reservation. But when you make a reservation online or you book for accommodations through a travelagency, you’ll usually get documented proof for your reservations. These reservations are important: they expedite the registration process and you’ll get to your room more quickly. Make sure you’ve got similar documented proof for car rental, admissions paid in advance, and other important vacation related details.

Giving Information about Your Travel Plans

If you’ve prepared a travel itinerary, it’s best to share your plans with loved ones you’ll leave behind. In the event that something untoward happens to you, your loved ones could notify the necessary authorities to verify your well-being.

Choose someone who’s dependable and close to you to be your primary contact at home. Make sure you call him at regular intervals so that everyone back home knows how you’re faring abroad or out of town. Ensure handing out your contact details whenever you change accommodations.

Lastly, you can also register your travel plans with the US government . It’s not really necessary, but better safe than sorry, don’t you think?

Delegating Responsibilities

If you have your bills and other important documents mailed to your home, make sure you inform the post office to put all mail on hold while you’re away. If not that then you can forward your mails to your neighbor or relative whom you trust most.

If you’re going to be on vacation for a considerable period of time, make sure you also ask someone to check your house from time to time. Have someone to water the plants, clean the yard, and maybe temporarily adopt your pets while you’re away.

Packing Dos and Don’ts

Pack light. Remember: every passenger is ascribed a certain weight quota for his baggage. If you go above this, you will have to pay few more. Make sure you label every piece of your luggage properly. It’s always a hassle when your luggage ends up lost and misplaced. Bring clothing that you can mix and match and use repeatedly. Make sure the clothing you bring is also appropriate for the weather in your destination.

Off to the Airport!

You should reach the airport at least two hours before the departure time of your flight. This way, you won’t be in any great hurry having your stuff stored properly and getting to your seat in comfort. Double-check your flight documents. Going through the same safety precautions repeatedly is tedious, yes, but again, it’s something you should do if you don’t want to risk getting deported when you get to your destination.

Follow all these tips and when you return home, you can look forward to going home without having to suffer last-day-trouble.

Tips For Last Minute Travel Of Your Honeymoon

March 06, 2009 By: Tristan Category: Misc No Comments →

A honeymoon is a wonderful thing: you can save a lot of money for it and enjoy it as a reward for a wedding well organized; you can get it as a gift from a generous wedding guest and enjoy it as newlyweds who don’t need to care about the world just yet; or you could simply go somewhere on a whim and head off to a secluded beach, romantic castle, or into the mountains at the last minute. No matter where you are going, if you are going off on a honeymoon at the last minute, you will need to take note of the following tips.

- Make sure that you pack everything that you need even before the wedding begins – in fact, if you have off time in your wedding preparations, you will need to start packing for your honeymoon! Pack what you think you might need, and go light – you will never know when you need to unpack things because of last minute changes in your trip! The key is not to be nervous simply because your bags were not packed properly or just because you forgot your toothbrush. This is your honeymoon, and you both need to be in love, not storming out because of a few poorly folded clothes!

- Avoid getting discount tours or buying tours that look cheap. You need to read between the lines for these tours even if you are going off on last minute travel plans. First, you might be stuck on a tour that will not allow you to enjoy some time on your own as a couple, and simply because you will be ferried and pushed around by a tour guide who needs to complete his or her duties. Second, you may be paying for something that you don’t really want. You may do well to wait until you get to your destination before you start planning out tours.

- Always ask about any hidden fees that might come with a discount travel package, or with a honeymoon package, if you are paying for your trip. You might be saddled with a lot of fees and taxes if you are not careful, and it may make paying for your honeymoon all the more difficult when all is over and you have to return to real life.

- Don’t forget the camera! This might be a last minute trip, but you will want to remember it.

- Be flexible. There’s nothing that can ruin a honeymoon faster than an uptight husband or wife who gets all jittery when things don’t go as planned. Remember, you’re on this honeymoon at the last minute, and when things were never planned, they don’t always go the way that you want them to. You are required to be prepared and to expect the unexpected.

Always be patient. You may both get meltdowns once in a while, especially if you have to spend another cent on an outrageous meal, or if you have to suddenly spend more on your hotel or tours.

- If you need to splurge on something outrageous but romantic, such as a kayaking trip for two, or paragliding for two, or massages for two, or anything that will make your honeymoon all the more memorable, then by all means, splurge! You want to make your honeymoon fun and enjoyable, so don’t hold back.

This does not happen all the time that you have the love of your life spending a big vacation with you!
